BANDS DO BK X AMERICANAFEST: Cat Clyde

Ahead of the release of the indie-folk artist’s fourth album, we’re stoked to share a live session featuring unreleased songs from ‘Mud Blood Bone’

“Oh baby, I’m always evolving.”

So says Canadian indie-folk phenom Cat Clyde, who just announced her forthcoming fourth full-length, Mud Blood Bone— out March 13th!

This is an evolution not just in the personal, or sonic, sense. It’s also transformation through physical motion. Mud Blood Bone is the product of Cat writing while roaming the world—the road of the future her feet and the winds of past at her back as she fights to confront her emotions and capture the frames and the feelings of present life.

The result of this (often jet lag-fueled) mission to live in the moment: an album she describes as being about “finding and following the path with heart, and moving from that place.”

Alongside the album announcement, Cat also released her newest single, “Another Time”!

To accompany today’s song’s release and album announcement, we’re thrilled to share the live session we filmed with Cat Clyde last September at AMERICANAFEST!

During the festival, Cat and her band swung by Dee’s Country Cocktail Club in Madison, TN and serenaded the crowd with a few songs (including unreleased tracks!) for the Bands do BK x I Know We Should sessions.

In this performance, Cat plays “The Gloom” (from 2023 album Down Rounder) as well as three tracks from the Mud Blood Bone: “Wild One”; “Hold My Hand”; and a cover of Marty Robbins’ “My Love.” In between the music, we talked jet lag as a songwriting secret, songs as their own worlds and finding inspiration in the fields and forests of Ontario.

Cat Clyde’s spring tour kicks off March 17th and includes an NYC stop at Baby’s All Right (with collaborator + BdBK fave Boy Golden!) on May 17th. Grab your tickets here.
