WHO: Miss Kerosene

SEEKING: “Someone to join our band”

ABOUT THE PROJECT: “Miss Kerosene is a folk and Americana band playing earnest and lyric-driven tunes in the model of Jason Isbell and Joni Mitchell. Its core members met while playing in music groups at a small midwest liberal arts school. We’re increasingly interested in merging aspects of electronic production and contemporary jazz and are working on our debut LP. We released the singles Faded Like the Last Star and Condarco over the summer and expect the record to be out sometime in October.”

DETAILS: “We’re looking for a bassist — preferably someone into folk and jazz music. We’ve got shows lined up at Starr Bar in Bushwick in late September and have been playing at Stage 1 at Rockwood every few months. The band has pretty hectic schedules so we don’t rehearse a ton; this band member would be expected to show up with the tunes already under their belt from listening to the tracked LP rough mixes.”
